House rules

Starting stackChips every seat starts with. Nobody rebuys — when a stack hits zero, that seat is out for the rest of the match.

AnteWhat every seat posts before the cards go out, win or lose. It's what keeps a table of folded hands still bleeding chips — the game's real clock.

Small betThe fixed bet size before the draw. It doubles automatically after the draw — the classic small-bet/big-bet structure — so this one number sets both.

Draw up to threeDraw up to five

How many cards a seat may throw away and replace on the draw street. Three is the traditional limit; five is the looser home-game rule.

Only a contested hand is shownAlways show every hand

Whose cards get shown once a hand ends. Contested is how the game is really played — you only show if somebody paid to see it, which is what makes bluffing real. Always is the friendly-table variant.

House playersThe house fills these seats and plays its own turns — no phones needed. House players only join live online tables, and a round with them at it doesn't count toward anyone's lifetime records.

Short a seat? The house sends players like Miss Ruby or Cousin Earl. Their rounds don't count toward records.
