House rules

Knock atThe most deadwood you may be left holding and still knock. 10 is standard. Set it to 0 for “straight gin” — you may only go out with a completely melded hand.

Gin bonusExtra points for going out with zero deadwood.

Undercut bonusExtra points for the defender when, after laying off, their deadwood is at or below the knocker's. The undercut is what makes a thin knock a risk instead of a free roll.
