Your turn
Draw one — stock, or the discard pile. Only the face-up card is available; what's underneath is out of play. Then meld or lay off as much as you like, and discard one to finish.
What counts as a meld
A set is 3 or 4 of the same rank. A run is 3+ in sequence, all one suit, with aces running low only. Anything on the table can be extended by anyone — that's a lay-off, and it's the only move that sheds exactly one card.

How the hand pays
Whoever goes out collects everyone else's deadwood; everyone else scores nothing. If nobody goes out, the lowest deadwood collects the difference. First past 250 takes the match.
